Love Is The New Black

I'm sure by now you have at least heard the faintest whisper of the devastation in Japan, Hawaii, and even my home...California.  It's terrible.  An 8.9 magnitude earthquake is devastating on it's own but Japan was also hit with a tsunami because of it!  I don't have exact numbers or anything like that on death toll/people injured (more than 1,000 & counting) but I can say that the people and the country of Japan will never be the same.

This post isn't related to external beauty but it's related to the beauty and kindness of your heart.

Here are some pictures I got from The Huffington Post!

I know a lot of people want to know how they can help and The Huffington Post has an article all about it! You can donate to the Red Cross by visiting redcross.org or texting REDCROSS to 90999 and it will donate $10 from your phone!  (As a little note, please please only donate through legitimate places! Make sure that your sweet help actually gets to the country of Japan! A lot of people will set up scams in a time like this because they know people are willing to give money).  There are options in that article about giving to places that are specifically for the children, for medical supplies, and more! So definitely, if you have a few minutes, take a look at that page and see where all you can give!

I really want to encourage you to share what you can! Maybe you can give $100 to the country of Japan... or maybe you can only donate $1 or $2! But if everyone only donates a dollar or two it will add up and your "little" contribution will actually make a huge difference!

Maybe you are really tight on money and don't feel like you can spare any money at all.. It's okay. You can still do something for these devastated people of Japan.  You can pray! Just a simple prayer that God will comfort them and hold them in his strong arms and shield them. That he will start the healing process & help them to pick up the pieces of their world...and their hearts.

I know several of you have been effected by this, or know someone who has... please know that I am with you in this sorrow and I am so sorry you are experiencing this. Whether this hits home for you or not, one thing we all can get out of this is to ALWAYS remember to..."Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle." -Plato. Whether your trials are tiny molehills, or as big as Japan's...we are ALL in this world together...fighting the same battle. Make sure to leave everyone you come in contact with...better than you found them. Once you leave this earth your mark is all that's left- Make sure it's written in permanent ink! Treat the world and all who live here as you would your very own children. If we all did this...imagine...just imagine...what a BEAUTIFUL place this would be.

Call someone & apologize- It's been way too long & tomorrow may never come. My beautiful Neighbor just spent the day with Bobby & I, and shared with us how her 45+ year old Daughter is not talking to her or her Husband (Daughter's Dad), for something SO stupid that happened a million years ago! Mind you this insanely sweet lady I speak of just got out of the hospital yesterday (her Birthday), after having open heart surgery! While her Husband just celebrated his 67th. Birthday! Life is MUCH TOO SHORT! ATTENTION ALL CHILDREN OUT THERE...No matter how much your Parents have been your Hero's...they are NOT, I repeat, ARE NOT...SUPERHEROES! They are Human, just like you & make mistakes...just like you. We are ALL equal. We all do the best we can, with what we can, with who we are. Call your Mom. Forgive your Dad. I hear these stories way too much & they just have to stop. The only thing more difficult than forgiving someone...is forgiving yourself when it's too late.

LOVE. It's the ONLY thing on earth that we ALL can afford, that we ALL need, that we ALL should give more of. The world is hurting. Crisis after crisis...we all have our crosses to bear. How beautiful the world...if our hearts outgrew our struggles.

Hold your loved ones EXTRA TIGHT and make sure to remember the people in the world who will never be able to again. Do it for them.

God Bless You, Japan, Hawaii, California, and EVERYWHERE else in this place we call home. May God watch over each and every one of you.
